When to use— Jöttnar’s warmest synthetic layer. A severe-weather belay jacket built for stillness in the storm. Winter climbing static periods, prolonged cold belays, ski touring stops and exposed cold-weather conditions where sustained warmth matters.
Body-mapped insulation— 160gsm synthetic fill in the main body for core warmth. Lighter 100gsm in the sleeves and hood keeps mobility intact and prevents excess bulk at the arms. Ravn delivers warmth where it counts without adding weight where it doesn’t.
Pertex® Quantum OceanCycle outer— The shell is woven from 100% recycled OceanCycle polyester — post-consumer ocean-bound plastic reclaimed and certified through the OceanCycle programme. Pertex® Quantum 50D micro ripstop is tough and abrasion resistant. PFC-free DWR finish.
Hood— Insulated over-helmet hood with 2-point adjustment that maintains peripheral vision. Glove-compatible concealed adjuster at aperture and rear. The insulated hood adds meaningful warmth at the head and neck.
Extended cut— Cut longer than a standard insulated jacket for coverage — a specific design decision for static cold-weather use where a shorter jacket would lose warmth at the lower back.
Pockets— Two chest pockets with rucksack compatible positioning. Two large internal dump pockets. Hand warmer pockets with front-facing insulation. Separate stuff sack included.
Ethics & sustainability— 100% recycled OceanCycle outer. PFC-free DWR finish.
