Description
Lightweight, packable active gilet. Polartec® Alpha™ performance concentrated where it matters most.
Polartec® Alpha™ – thermoregulation, not just insulation. The same windproof 20-denier, 100% recycled Bureo® NetPlus® nylon outer and Polartec® Alpha® fleece lining as theAsger HSjacket, in a sleeveless, hoodless cut that focuses thermoregulation at the core while leaving arms completely free. Weighing just 186g, this gilet cuts layering bulk and provides easy packability.
Twin harness-compatible hand pockets with front-facing insulation, Polartec® Alpha™-lined collar, glove-compatible anti-snag hem drawcords and a Mjolnir-branded centre front zip. Our water repellent finish is both PFC-free and PFAS-free.
When to use —Climbing, trekking and trail running as a core warmth layer under a shell or as a standalone in cool conditions.
Polartec® Alpha™ — thermoregulation, not just insulation —Alpha was originally developed for Special Forces use for stop-start activity where a standard insulator either overheats on the ascent or chills at the belay. It actively exchanges air as effort levels change — shedding excess heat when working hard, retaining warmth when stopped — without requiring a layer change. In a gilet format, that thermoregulation is focused entirely at the core, where heat retention and heat loss are most consequential.
Versus the Asger HS —The Asger HS is the full jacket — sleeves, drop back hem, regular fit, more coverage. The Asger Gilet is the more versatile layering piece: lighter at 186g vs 249g, sleeveless for arm freedom, hoodless for clean compatibility with any outer.
NetPlus® outer —20-denier windproof micro ripstop woven from Bureo® NetPlus® reclaimed fishing nets — certified and traceable to source. C0 PFC-free and PFAS-free DWR finish. Matte face appearance.
Polartec® Alpha™-lined collar —The fleece extends into the collar, eliminating the cold spot at the neck without adding a separate layer.
Pockets —Twin hand pockets are harness-compatible with front-facing insulation. Positioned to remain accessible under a climbing harness or rucksack hipbelt.
Ethics & sustainability —100% recycled nylon outer woven from Bureo® NetPlus® reclaimed fishing nets. C0 PFC-free and PFAS-free DWR. 54% recycled polyester in the Polartec® Alpha™ lining.
