Description
Warm, moisture-managing, itch-free merino base layer for cold-weather layering.
Birdseye mesh knit enhances comfort and moisture management. Flatlock seams for comfort. Warmth, even when wet. Naturally odour-resistant, crease-resistant and antimicrobial. 19.5-micronextrafine merino feels soft and silky.
Core-spun yarns add stretch, strength, and faster drying. Body-mapped pointelle panels for airflow through sides and underarms. Double-layered rib collar and ribbed cuffs. Reverse coil, auto-lock YKK® quarter zip for temperature management.
When to use— Skiing, trekking, mountaineering and climbing as a first layer. The quarter zip and athletic fit make it equally wearable as a standalone on mild days or in town.
19.5 micron extrafine— why it matters — Micron count measures fibre diameter; 19.5 is at the finer end of the extrafine range, thin enough to lie flat against skin without the prickling of standard merino. Finer fibres = softer, better next-to-skin comfort.
Core-spun construction— A polyester core inside each yarn adds durability and faster drying without compromising the softness of the merino outer. It also adds stretch and shape retention that pure merino lacks over time. The PBT polyester variant provides better elasticity and moisture recovery than standard polyester blends.
Pointelle panels— Open-knit ventilation zones at sides and underarms are body-mapped to where heat and moisture build fastest during output, allowing the base layer to breathe actively rather than relying solely on the merino’s natural wicking.
Quarter zip— Reverse coil auto-lock YKK® quarter zip allows rapid venting during output. Double-layered rib collar adds warmth at the neck. Ribbed cuffs seal against wind ingress at the wrist.
Ethics— Non-mulesed merino wool throughout.
