When to use— Skiing, climbing, mountaineering and trekking as a high-output midlayer or standalone in cool conditions. Best suited to sustained aerobic activity where a traditional insulated jacket would trap too much heat. No outer fabric makes it more actively breathable, but less windproof than the Asger.
Octa®— what it does differently — Octa® is a hollow-core filament with eight fin-like projections. The hollow core traps warm air without adding fibre weight; the projections create a wicking surface that actively channels moisture away from the skin. The result: a fleece that regulates more responsively than standard pile, and at just 249g.
Versus the Asger— The Eldar breathes more freely and manages moisture more actively under high load — the better choice for steep ascents and sustained aerobic activity. The Asger is the better choice when windproofing is required.
Athletic fit— Slightly closer cut than the Asger, sits neatly under a shell without bunching. The under-helmet hood adds coverage without bulk.
Pockets— Mesh-lined hand warmer pockets aid ventilation as well as storage. Insulated facing helps hand warmth. Chest pocket for securing valuables.
Construction— 174gsm Octa® fleece. Smooth face, brushed interior grid. Flatlock seam construction eliminates chafe throughout.
